Tips & Tricks

Take passport photos

Expensive instant-photo booths are now a thing of the past: Using the BEST SHOT "Passport photo" mode, you can create several passport photos in various standard sizes in seconds. Taking a portrait photo is stress free: The superimposed passport photo frame helps with positioning, and then all you have to do is press the shutter button — it's that easy! The EXILIM camera automatically creates multiple copies of the photo in various standard sizes, ready for you to print and cut out, and then use for your new passport.

The Passport Photo Function is available for example for the following models: EX-S200, EX-Z800, EX-Z2000, EX-Z2300, EX-Z550, EX-Z330, EX-H5, EX-H15, EX-H10
Using the following procedure, you can take a portrait photo and print it out in the following standard sizes for ID photos: 30 x 24 mm, 40 x 30 mm, 50 x 40 mm and 55 x 45 mm.

Press [BS] and select the "ID Photo" scene.
Press the shutter button to take a portrait photo of the person for whom you want to create ID photos.
Adjust the image so that the subject's face is correctly positioned.

: For moving the portrait up, down, to the left and to the right.

Zoom controller: For enlarging and reducing the portrait.
Press [Set].
The image is then saved to the memory.
  • The image created is always saved in size 5M (2560 x 1920 pixels), irrespective of the image size currently selected on the camera.

Printing an ID photo

When the option of printing is selected, several copies of the same image are printed in various standard ID-photo sizes, all on the same page. Cut out the photos you require.
  • To make the process of cutting out the photos easier, the actual printed photos are slightly larger than the relevant standard ID-photo format.
  • When printing an ID photo, always select the paper size "4 x 6".
  • Before printing ID photos, please set the printer to "borderless printing". For more information, please refer to the accompanying documentation for your printer.
